KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Malaysia's Health Ministry says nine more people diagnosed with swine flu have died, raising the country's death toll related to the virus to 27.
Government officials have warned that unessential public gatherings might need to be scrapped to curb the risk of further infections as the country's total fatalities from swine flu have quadrupled over the past week.
The Health Ministry reported Monday that six more patients have died at various hospitals in recent days. Malaysia has confirmed 1,983 swine flu cases since May.
